We stayed in villa 8 with 2 adults and 2 younger kids.

    pros:
    1. first floor is great with kids because you can easily get in and out of your room from the beach and pool. The view might be slightly better higher, but the convenience WAY outweighs that.
    2. The beach and water are beautiful. Turquoise waters, a man-made reef with good snorkeling, no rough surf.
    3. Nice small pool. Very warm. Kids loved it.
    4. Rooms are well-appointed and modern, nice furnishings. The other places we looked at all looked like your grandmas house in Florida, with floral polyester comforters, etc.
    5. Maggie up front was very helpful.
    6. The sand is very soft with few rocks. There are some rocks in the water, so you have to look where you are walking a little.
    7. Having the Marriott next door is convenient as they have restaurants and sports rentals.
    8. Never had to fight for chairs like at the neighboring properties.

    cons:
    1. The room was not very clean when we got there.
    2. Hard to know when housekeeping was coming each day.
    3. It is on a busy road–if you are walking it is difficult to cross the street.
    4. Faithia, another front desk staff, was kind of rude and didn’t seem to want to help. Maybe she was having a bad week.
    5. No restaurants, coffee shops, etc on the property.
    6. Not much within a convenient walk. 20 minutes or so on a busy road to an outdoor shopping mall.
Room Tip: First floor is great for families.

Stayed in unit 3 – super modern and nice, full amenities. Right on beach where we could walk from unit’s balcony down steps to sand in 10 seconds. View is amazing. Beach is private with amazing white sand. Very few guests there so always good loungers available. The snorkeling right off the beach is amazing and the Marriot next door has lots of activities. They are more crowded there but far enough away. Daily housekeeping service. Phone for local calls, large flat panel TVs with High Def. Walking distance to all good SMB restaurants. Maggie and Faithia were great – booked tours for us, had groceries delivered before our arrival. About as perfect as it gets. Brandon.
Room Tip: Villas 1-8 are ground floor and you can walk from balcony to beach.

We stayed at South Bay Beach Club for four nights to relax after an amazing wedding ceremony. We needed the rest after the early starts and the late nights. Prior to our arrival the management team, Maggi and Suzette were amazing. They catered for our every need, whether it being related to the property or the Caymans in general. Our total party was 9 people, 3 couples stay in villa #37 and 3 individuals stayed in #2 – the penthouse (#37) was more than what we expected. If you are looking for a self catering, look nowhere else. The villas are done up to the highest standards, with flat screens in every room, fully equipped kitchen, large living area and huge balcony over looking the seven mile beach. We had access to our own private beach area and the hotel next door where we could have (expensive) drinks and use their water sports facilities (at a cost). All in all our stay with South Bay exceeded our expectations and will definitely be staying there next time we are in the Caymans. To anyone visiting the Caymans, would recommend hiring a car as you’ll need it to get around with ease. The Tours Cayman excursion (speak to Shane) was well worth it for the price you pay. We got to visit a Turtle farm, Stingray City, Starfish Island and a Snorkeling spot.
