SOUTH BAY BEACH CLUB PRIVACY POLICY | UPDATED JANUARY 1, 2023

Your personal privacy is of extreme importance to us.  The European Union (EU) has taken the lead on this issue in the most recent Global Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).  Our privacy policy and marketing efforts consider those standards.

COLLECTION & STORAGE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

South Bay Beach Club (SBBC) & it’s exclusive Rental Plan Manager (Grand Cayman Villas & Condos, LLC) collect & maintain personal data provided directly by the guest themselves (for the purpose of either inquiring/making an accommodations reservation, subscribing to our eNewsletter or to make an incidental purchase connected with a reservation.) Our companies do not buy e-mail marketing lists from any third parties. Our companies also do not sell (or share) any customer personal data with any outside parties, vendors or partners.

This information (5 items detailed below) will have come directly thru our secure website, or during the booking or subscription process or will be provided to us by the guest’s travel agent, online booking source or wholesaler and entered into our secure reservations system. Regardless of the  source of the personal information, our reservation software is web-based, fully PCI compliant (for credit card data), maintains a security certificate (SSL) and is fire-walled & password-protected. Further, any credit card information is “tokenized” so that only the last-4 digits of the card are visible within our reservations system, even to our reservations staff.

We also collect and store email addresses only for our periodic E-newsletters. Addressees are invited to unsubscribe with each newsletter send and any email addresses unsubscribed are expunged from our database.

Our websites have Google Analytics™ tracking code and so that we may track inbound traffic to our website to better refine the online experience for the guest and measure our website performance. Google maintains all information securely outside our company. We do not store that information.

HOW WE USE PERSONAL INFORMATION

We use the 5 items of personal information above exclusively for the contractual purposes of making an accommodations reservation and communicating (by Mail Chimp™) with our customers prior to, during & after their trip.  All credit card data is deleted permanently once the card expiry date is reached. The name, address, email and phone number for confirmed guests only remain in our secure reservations system.  Only email addresses are retained for subsequent use in marketing.

Any guest may request a copy of their customer data held on file and also has the right to request that we delete/expunge it from our files. Please feel free to email our Data Protection Principal directly.  Jim Leavitt at  [email protected]

AUTOMATIC LOGGING OF SESSION DATA

We automatically log generic information about your computer’s connection to the Internet, which we call “session data”. Session data consists of things such as IP address, operating system and type of browser software being used and the activities conducted by the user while on our site. An IP address is a number that lets computers attached to the Internet, such as our web servers, know where to send data back to the user, such as the pages of the site the user wishes to view. We collect session data because it helps us analyze such things as what items visitors are likely to click on most, the way visitors are clicking through the site, how many visitors are surfing to various pages on the site, how long visitors to the site are staying and how often they are visiting. It also helps us diagnose problems with our servers and lets us better administer our systems. It is possible to determine from an IP address a visitor’s Internet Service Provider (ISP) and the approximate geographic location of his or her point of connectivity. We may also use some session data, such as the pages you visited on our site, to send you e-mail unless you had previously opted out of receiving such messages.
