Beach Notes

The beach behind the Kaibo Condo complex is pure barefoot sand. Facing the sound, the waters here are clear and calm. There are no reefs here to snorkel, nor is the sea bottom sandy.

All beaches are technically public and there are some nicer beaches nearby open for your use. 

For barefoot swimming and snorkeling, we recommend walking up the street to the Gardens of the Kai, or Rum Point Club, a 2-minute drive or 10-minute walk away. Not only are the beaches there swimmable, but the Rum Point Club also offers a bar and grill, beach service, and a variety of water sports activities to keep you active.

General Grand Cayman Beach Notes

All beaches in Grand Cayman are technically public since the Crown owns up to the high water mark.

The shoreline quality behind your property may vary slightly from the images on our website due to shifting tides and weather patterns. The next-door beach is also always available for your use.

Ocean Debris & Sargassum Seaweed

Beaches in Grand Cayman may also experience floating ocean debris and sargassum weed seasonally.

Sargassum is a generally harmless floating seaweed that has increased in frequency over the years during the summer. Our owners do make efforts to remove heavy sargassum and will have the beach raked before your arrival. 

Should sargassum weed be extremely heavy behind your property, we will reach out to the owner for alternative solutions which may include a partial refund or relocation.

This is the perfect place for the quieter side of the island. The unit is nicely updated and has all the amenities plus some. It’s nice to walk down and see the starfish right on this beach or you can walk to starfish point to see more. This unit is down a building from the pool which is appreciated as it’s quieter. The oversized lanai is a bonus!

We had an amazing family vacation. Condo was beautiful, had all essentials and the view was amazing. Our kids loved looking for starfish. We were so sad to leave. We hope to be back!!!

We really enjoyed our stay. The condo has everything you could need for home away from home. We stayed with our two teenage daughters and we were so comfortable. The view is fantastic and sitting out on the screened porch for breakfast, lunch or dinner so lovely! We were able to easily walk over to Kaibo Marina for lunch and dinner and even caught the water taxi to George Town one day. We also were able to get on our dive boat and a snorkeling trip to sting Ray city from Kaibo Marina. Easy to run on the flat quiet streets around the condo on Rum Point. Overall very happy with our stay. Condo is newly updated and they did not miss any details!

Beautiful place and beautiful view! So many starfish right at your back door! Snorkeling was our favorite. Walked to picnic at Starfish Pointe which is right around the corner. Love the coziness and privacy! Places to eat: Agua, Tucca, Kaibo, The Wharf

Our family of four had a great time at the Kailua villa hosted and managed by Grand Cayman Villa. The Villa was exactly described and more. Every morning we woke up to the beautiful ocean view that we just couldn’t get enough of. The only thing is that the Villa is a little farther away from restaurants, shops, and grocery stores. However, we learned and got groceries and stocked up the refrigerator in town. We were able to fully enjoy what the Villa had to offer. The AC was great, and the outdoor enclosed screened in patio was great for relaxing and starring at the boats, catamaran, jet skis, & paddle boards. If we were in Grand Cayman Island, we would definitely recommend staying here again. We contacted Penny, the management company, about a couple of questions. They were very responsive and helped us right away. This type of service is what sets the Villa apart. If you are looking for a place to stay, please click the Reserve button because you will be happy you did!

The condo itself was amazing!! Lots of high-end upgrades to the bathrooms, kitchen and furniture and well stocked kitchen. Beautifully decorated and supremely clean!! Amazing!! The list of recommendations were extremely helpful! Very peaceful surroundings, nice to visit the beach and be the only ones there! Was a little strange we didn’t see many people around though. Maybe it was the off season in mid-Jine? But over all the condo was amazing!

The place was very nicely decorated, comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The location was perfect right on the beach with gorgeous views of the water. It’s a quiet area with a restaurant, bar, coffee shop and small marina nearby. It’s a walkable area to these places and Starfish Point. We can’t wait to return and will refer this place to others.

We have used Grand Cayman Villas and Condos now for three trips to the Cayman Islands. Two times near Kaibo/Rum Point area and another time on 7 Mile Beach. We are very happy with this management company and would highly recommend them. Kailua is a very nice, beautifully updated upper villa in a four-villa structure. It is wonderfully laid out and decorated from an interior design perspective. It has a lovely new kitchen, updated baths, comfortable living room (love the sofa) and functional and fun outdoor patio space for eating and lounging. It was very nice to have the large, stackable washer and dryer to keep towels and beach clothes neat and tidy all week. There are four villas to a building so you will hear your neighbors if they are talking outside or playing music they like on their patio. Upon arrival it was a little hard to find so note that it is an upper in a grouping of several buildings. We love the Caymans as everyone is so nice and the island feels wonderfully safe. We can\'t wait to book again in the future with Grand Cayman Villas and Condos. Thank you Kailua owners for a wonderful week!

Lets start by saying, the photos on here does the place no justice. It was extremely beautiful, clean , neat, organized and equipped with everything you think you might need. The beach front property was a plus. Location wise it’s a decent drive from the town perfect getaway if you wanna stay low key and relax. I felt safe staying here and the host stayed in communication every step of the way. I have nothing bad to say about this villa very beautiful place. We enjoyed our Stay.

We had incredible stress & difficulty reserving through VRBO (our reservations were cancelled 2 days before our arrival) so we had to go straight to the renting agency Grand Cayman Villas and Condos--and they were great. Wee Kai: It is wonderful--newly renovated and has everything you could want, and then more. Making reservations with Grand Cayman Villas was easy and the people were so nice (they were understanding about our issues with VRBO reservations). The property manager met us when we arrived and explained everything we needed to know about the unit. Penni is simply delightful and had great recommendations about things to do/places to go. The unit is organized and decorated beautifully. Every room is inviting and cozy (we had coffee on the fabulous deck each morning). We cooked in the well-appointed kitchen and had everything we needed (my husband especially loved the espresso machine). Location-- perfect. 2nd story deck looks out at the amazing views of the water. Just far enough from the Marina next door to be quiet, but close enough to walk for a coffee, pizza on the beach, or nice meal upstairs (a bit too pricey at the upstairs restaurant, though, for what you get). We visited all parts of the island, and definitely loved coming home to the quiet area that is Kaibo. The beach is great for snorkeling and kayaking (maybe not great for kids to swim too far out due to rocks and seagrass). We saw gorgeous starfish while walking in the water up to our waists. This part of the island did not get sargassum seaweed due to its location. Rum Point restaurant and hang out area up the road is closed currently, but the public beach there is still open and is also a great place to snorkel (we saw sea turtles there). You should also walk down the street to Starfish Point—sunsets there are amazing. Silver Thatch Guest Services gave us great support. Highly recommended.

Everything was wonderful and exactly as advertised. Rum Point was quiet and relaxing, but with plenty to do. The villa was excellent - modern, well equipped and sparkling. The screened in porch was a life saver with an infant along with us for the trip. We have zero complaints. The Grand Cayman Villas & Condos Team, Penni and Silver Thatch were all immensely helpful and very friendly. We would HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend Wee Kai for anyone looking for some R&R away from the crowds.
